August | 24th to 27th | 2023

Summer Retreat “Tango in Fridhem” with Katrin Urwitz & Jorge Frias

We are so happy to invite you to this long Tango Weekend on Gotland.

The location in Fridhem is magic, just 6 km south of Visby on the beach looking over Högklint.

For a long time we have mused on organizing something here and now the time has come.

The weekend will be filled with workshops and milongas and good food, there will also be free time to spend on the beautiful beach or seeing some of the nearby places on the island.

This retreat is for you that dance comfortably in your role/s – intermediate and advanced (minimum 2 years of dancing Tango). We will be up to 40 participants.

All classes are held in English by Katrin & Jorge and some of them in collaboration with Malin.

Accommodation

We will stay in Fridtorp, it’s a big cosy house with 2 floors, 400 meters from the beach.
There are 12 rooms shared between 2 to 6 people, each room with private bathroom. No single rooms.
Bedlinen and towels are not included.

If you want to come early or stay longer in this beautiful place, let us know and we can connect you with the hotel.

How to get there

From Nynäshamn and Oskarshamn there are ferries to take you to Gotland. www.destinationgotland.se
You can also fly direct to the island from several airports in Sweden and summertime also from some neighbouring countries.
We will provide more info soon on how to get from Visby to Fridhem.

Gotland is the largest island in Sweden and is located in the Baltic Sea. The island has a rich history dating back to the Viking Age and has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Gotland has been ruled by various kingdoms and empires throughout its history, including Denmark, Sweden, and the Hanseatic League, which left a lasting impact on the island’s culture and architecture.

Today, Gotland is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, stunning natural scenery, and historic landmarks. The island is home to many charming towns and villages, including the capital city of Visby, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visby is famous for its medieval city walls, which surround the town and are among the best-preserved walls of their kind in Europe.

In addition to its historical and cultural attractions, Gotland is also known for its delicious cuisine and locally produced food and beverages, such as smoked fish, saffron pancakes, and Gotlandic beer.
