Salida Básica Cruzada – Enrosque – Parada

In this sequence we start with the Salida Básica Cruzada without taking a step back, we start to the side.

Usually after Katrin’s Front Cross would come an Open Step with her right leg.

We’re going to transform that Open Step into a Back Cross, but Katrin is going to step with the same leg, how is it possible?

Remember that the name of the steps are relative to the other person, Jorge in this case. What we modify is Jorge’s position by adding two steps around Katrin.

These two extra steps plus the pivot are not easy to perform, nor is it easy for Katrin to hold her position during Jorge’s moves. We will see these details in El Pasito’s Class next Sunday. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so here.

We get out of that situation with a half turn from Katrin, which starts with the Back Cross that should have been an Open Step.

The half turn ends in Katrin’s forward cross along with the stop on Jorge’s opening.

From this position, how would you continue the dance? We read you in the comments.
